Bucktown Real Estate Market

Bucktown has become one of Chicago’s trendiest neighborhoods thanks in large part to its widespread collection of funky restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. As part of the equally trendy Logan Square community, the Bucktown neighborhood also sits adjacent to Wicker Park, providing residents and home owners with easy access to some of the hippest neighborhoods and communities in all of Chicago. Homes and condos found throughout Bucktown are highly desirable, especially for those who appreciate an older, historic residence. Bucktown’s early history of being a working class community means you’ll still find a wonderful mix of charming workers cottages throughout the area, and there’s certainly no shortage of stately brownstones; brick three, four, five, and six flats; and a number of classic residential loft conversions as well. And given the popularity of Bucktown nowadays, new construction single-family homes are also quite coming all throughout the Bucktown landscape, which includes a high concentration of modern-ist single-family residences with incredible layouts and designs.

Lifestyle Amenities & Attractions in Bucktown

Many consider Damen Avenue to be the heartbeat of Bucktown, and it’s along this long stretch of road that you’ll find a fabulous mix of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. In recent years, more commercial development has also sprouted up along Diversey Parkway and Armitage Avenue, especially in terms of more restaurant and eateries. The 606 Trail is also one of the primary outdoor amenities in Bucktown and also provides locals with a great place to run, walk, jog, or go for an extended bike ride without the stress of doing so along any of Bucktown’s streets or major thoroughfares.

Bucktown Transit

Bucktown definitely sits outside of downtown Chicago’s core but home owners still aren’t far from the city center. In fact, the CTA Blue Line has stations along Western and along Damen, which both connect Bucktown to downtown and also O’Hare International Airport. Bus lines running through the Bucktown neighborhood include the #76 (Diversey), the #74 (Fullerton), and the #73 (Armitage). For those who prefer to drive, the Kennedy Expressway also juts through a portion of Bucktown, which also connects locals to just about any other part of the city as well.
