Fulton Market Real Estate Market

The Fulton Market District is one of Chicago’s most interesting neighborhoods for a multitude of reasons. As part of the West Loop, Fulton Market started out as a bustling meat packing district filled with old warehouses and refrigerated storage facilities. Today, however, it’s famous for being the epicenter of tech in Chicago, and new bars and restaurants seemingly make their way to Fulton Market each and every week. Fulton Market’s official boundaries vary depending on who you talk to but most recognize the district as being centered around West Fulton Market (the street). It’s along this lively strip that you’ll find the bulk of the neighborhood’s unique cafes, restaurants, and bars, not to mention quite a few loft-style office buildings as well. As for Fulton Market landscape in general, commercial real estate is what’s most prevalent here. 1K Fulton is probably the most recognized building in the Fulton Market District, which of course is home to Chicago’s Google location and the highly touted Swift & Sons steakhouse. Residential real estate in Fulton Market is fairly limited, although there’s no shortage of lofts and condos in the immediate area surrounding what’s considered the actual Fulton Market District

Amenities & Attractions in Fulton Market

It wasn't long ago that Restaurant Row along Randolph Street was considered Chicago’s trendiest collection of restaurants and cafes. Things are slightly different today and Fulton Market is now giving its West Loop neighbor a run for its money. Burger joints, ethnic cuisine, and even an arcade bar now line Fulton Market, making it quite the place to be during Happy Hour. A number of higher-end restaurants also call Fulton Market home now too, which can’t be overlooked when visiting. As mentioned above, Swift & Sons is situated right in the heart of the neighborhood and The Publican has also been a neighborhood staple for years now.

Fulton Market Transit

With so much development happening all throughout Fulton Market and the West Loop, it’s hardly surprising that it’s a fairly easy location to get to and from. The CTA Morgan Station, which is part of the Pink and Green lines, sits just a block away from 1K Fulton and the rest of the Fulton Market District. In addition, the #8 Hasted bus line also has a stop right at Hasted and Fulton Market, which of course is where you’ll find the highly recognizable Fulton Market District gateway.
