Lakeview Real Estate Market

Lakeview is one of the most recognized neighborhoods up on Chicago’s North Side. Bounded by Diversey Parkway to the south, Irving Park Road to the north, Ravenswood Avenue to the west, and Lake Michigan to the east, Lakeview encompasses a whole lot of area, providing prospective home buyers with a wide mix of housing options that range from vintage condos and townhomes to single-family homes of all shapes and sizes. A number of sub-neighborhoods also make up the larger Lakeview community, which include Belmont Harbor, Boys Town, East Ravenswood, Lakeview Central, Lakeview East, Southport Corridor, and Wrigleyville. In terms of the lifestyle, locals love Lakeview for its diversity, close proximity to the lakefront, and all the attractions you’ll find throughout the area. From restaurants, bars, and nightlife to a seemingly endless network of quiet tree-lined streets, there’s a little bit of everything in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, which is exactly what makes it such a special place to live, work, and play.

Amenities & Attractions in Lakeview

Lakeview is famous for being the home of historic Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs. But along with its beloved baseball stadium, Lakeview isn't short of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Smaller music venues, comedy clubs, and theaters are scattered all throughout the neighborhood but especially along Belmont and Broadway avenues. Access to the Lakefront Trail and Belmont Harbor also makes enjoying the lake especially easy once calling Lakeview home, and getting to and from downtown Chicago is also a breeze from here, which we’ll explain more about below.

Lakeview Transit

Thanks to Lakeview’s location along the lakefront, access to several CTA Red Line stations is made easy. The Addison station drops riders off right at Wrigley Field and there’s also the Fullerton station in nearby Lincoln Park just off the DePaul campus. The Brown / Purple Line is also available to Lakeview residents at both Wellington and Diversey. Major CTA Bus lines in Lakeview include the #151 (Sheridan), the #22 (Clark), and the #36 (Broadway).
