West Loop Real Estate Market

The West Loop might just be downtown Chicago’s most popular neighborhood to call home these days. Once a sprawling industrial district filled with warehouses, factories, and meat packing and distribution centers, the West Loop is now much more known for being home to many of Chicago’s largest tech companies and start-ups, as well as the city’s largest volume of chic and stylish residential loft conversions. In addition, the West Loop is also where you’ll find Chicago’s famed Restaurant Row, as well as the bustling Fulton Market District, which has its own high-profile strip of restaurants, bars, and eateries that rivals its counterpart over on nearby Randolph Street. Greektown is also part of the West Loop, and its close proximity to the Loop also makes it a convenient place to live for anybody who already works in Chicago’s primary business and financial district.

West Loop Attractions & Amenities

As just mentioned above, people know the West Loop for its vibrant restaurant scene that continues to keep growing and evolving. Some of Chicago’s most famous fine dining spots, burger joints, and pizzerias can all be found along Randolph Street, Madison Street, or Fulton Market. And when it comes to entertainment, the United Center—home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks—is also just a short drive up Madison Street as well.

West Loop Transit

If you live over in Greektown or somewhere on the West Loop’s southern edge, the CTA’s UIC-Halsted and Racine Blue Line stations are your closest train stops. On the other end of the West Loop, a bit closer to Fulton Market, you’ll have easy access to the Morgan Station Green / Pink Line. In addition, Chicago’s busy Union Station is also in the West Loop Gate, and major bus lines that travel throughout the West Loop neighborhood include the #20 (Madison) and #8 (Hasted).
